Description of the Institution
Yasar
University was established by Selçuk Yaşar Sports
and Education Foundation as an English medium foundation university located in the
city of Izmir which is the third largest city on the scenic west coast of Turkey. The university provides an
ideal environment for international collaborations with global universities and
other educational institutes, university-private sector connections and
personal and professional development of students within the basis of local and
global projects.
Yaşar University’s vision is to be an
innovative and sustainable university on a global scale. By its mission goals
and statement, the university provides education, research and services which adopts
science, art and design culture and contributes to society on local and global
basis.
Yasar University has moved to Selçuk
Yaşar Campus which is designed and equipped with state-of-the-art technologies
based on student needs in 2008. Education is provided to students within an English
medium environment by Turkish and international academic staff, specialist on
their fields. European Credit Transfer System is implemented at Yaşar
university and the university is awarded with European Credit Transfer System
Diploma Supplement award.
Yaşar University has already completed
and mobilized its strategic plan for the period from 2015 to 2020 with the
contributions of all relevant stakeholders. The three bases of this strategy
have been identified as internationalization, experiential
learning and local cooperation. In this regard, international mobility
of students and staff constitutes an essential part of the university’s
strategic priorities.
